Terms of service

What this service is, what it is not, and the limits of what these pages can tell you. Effective 2026-10-20.

SoakedHome is operated by Innovasurge, LLC, registered in New York. Using this site means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site. See our privacy policy for what happens to your information, and about for who runs this.

The short version

1. What this service is

SoakedHome is a connection service. When you call, we route your call to an independent specialist who covers your area and handles the kind of work you describe. That is the whole of what we provide.

We do not carry out water damage, plumbing, cesspool, septic or remediation work of any kind. We employ no tradespeople, we operate no vehicles or equipment, and we have no premises in any of the localities these pages cover.

When you call. The greeting tells you that the call is recorded, and an automated assistant then asks what is happening, your ZIP code and, for water damage, whether you own or rent. By continuing the call you agree to the recording and to the assistant. To find a specialist we send your phone number and ZIP code to the call network we work with; if one is available your call is put through, and if not you can leave a message. Our privacy policy sets out what is kept and who receives it.

2. Your agreement is with the specialist, not with us

If you engage the specialist we connect you with, that contract is between you and them. We are not a party to it. Their price, their schedule, their methods, their guarantees and their conduct on your property are theirs, and any dispute about the work is between you and them.

We never add a margin to what they quote you, and we do not receive any part of what you pay them.

3. What we do not warrant

Disclaimer. SoakedHome is a free service that helps homeowners connect with local service providers. All contractors and providers are independent, and SoakedHome does not warrant or guarantee any work performed. It is the homeowner's responsibility to verify that the hired contractor holds the license and insurance required for the work being performed.

Same-day, day-or-night and 24/7 emergency services are subject to provider participation, location, technician availability, and demand. Availability is not guaranteed and may vary by market and appointment capacity.

We do not vet, inspect, supervise or endorse the specialists we connect you with, and we do not represent that we do. We do not verify their licensing, their insurance, their qualifications or their work history, and connecting you with someone is not a recommendation of them.

We also cannot guarantee that anyone will be available, that they will call you back, that they will arrive within any particular time, or that they will accept the job at all.

What to do instead of relying on us for this. Before any work starts, ask for a license number and a written price. Suffolk County's Department of Labor, Licensing & Consumer Affairs licenses home-improvement contractors and lets you check one (Southampton, East Hampton and Shelter Island license their own). Ask for a certificate of insurance if the job is substantial. Any established trade expects to be asked and will not mind.

4. What the measurements on these pages are, and are not

Every locality page on this site carries figures compiled from public sources — the USGS, FEMA, the US Census, the EPA and county records. Our methodology page sets out where each figure comes from, how it was sampled, and what it does not tell you. We publish those limits because they matter.

These figures describe an area, not your property. A water table depth or a flood-zone share measured across a locality says nothing definitive about one address within it. Ground conditions vary street to street, and so does what has been done to an individual house.

Nothing on this site is a survey, an elevation certificate, a FEMA flood determination, an engineering assessment, a legal opinion or insurance advice. Do not use it to decide whether to buy a property, whether to carry flood insurance, or what a claim is worth. Those decisions need a professional looking at your address.

We compile carefully and we correct what we find wrong, but we do not warrant that every figure is accurate or current, and public sources are themselves revised.

5. Emergencies

This is not an emergency service and the number on this site is not an emergency line. If there is a risk to life, a gas smell or water near electricity, call 911 or your utility's emergency number first. Deal with us afterwards.

6. How we are paid

There is no fee to you for the connection. We are paid a referral fee by the specialist or by the call network that routes the connection to them. Our about page explains this in full.

No specialist pays to appear on this site, to rank higher within it, or to have a locality described in a particular way. Nothing here is ordered by what it pays.

7. Using this site

You may read these pages, quote them with attribution, and link to them freely. Please do not scrape the site at a rate that degrades it for others, misrepresent our figures as your own, or use the phone number for anything other than a genuine service request.

The text, the compiled figures, the illustrations and the page designs are ours. The underlying public data is not — it belongs to the agencies named on the methodology page and you can go and get it from them.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Innovasurge, LLC is not liable for loss or damage arising from the work of a specialist you were connected with, from anyone's failure to respond, or from reliance on the figures published here. Our total liability in connection with this site is limited to what you paid us, which is nothing.

Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

9. Changes, governing law, and contact

We may update these terms. The effective date at the top changes when we do, and material changes will be described rather than slipped in.

This service is offered in New York State and these terms are governed by New York law.
